Big projects require the right partners — and we're proud to be one of them on this one.
Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas is in the middle of a massive new addition, and H&H Fabrication was called on to do what we do best: fabricate and install structural steel components that hold everything together. In this case, that meant the stairs and railing for this impressive multi-story build.
We love partnering with Southwest General Contractors on projects like these. When a great GC and a great fabricator work together, the results speak for themselves — and this job is no exception.
A Major Addition to a West Texas Institution
Frank Phillips College has served the Borger community for decades, and this new addition is a significant investment in the future of education in the Texas Panhandle. The construction scope includes:
A large multi-story structure with concrete masonry and wood framing
Extensive exterior sheathing and structural wall systems
Steel stair systems and railing fabricated and installed by H&H
Coordination across multiple trades on a tight, active campus
Drone footage from the jobsite shows just how large this project really is — a full-footprint addition rising from the ground up, right next to existing campus buildings.
Our Scope: Stairs & Railing
H&H Fabrication was responsible for fabricating and installing the steel stair systems and railings inside the new addition. This type of work requires precision — stairs have to be level, plumb, and perfectly fitted to the surrounding structure before the rest of the finishes go in.
Our team handled:
🔩 Full stair structure fabrication — stringers, risers, and treads
🪜 Multi-flight stair runs connecting both floors
🛡️ Steel pipe railing systems on both flights
📐 Field fitting and installation coordinated with the GC schedule
The finished product is solid, clean, and built to last — exactly what a college building needs.
Why We Love Working With Southwest General Contractors
Projects like this don't happen without great general contractors leading the charge. Southwest General Contractors runs a tight, well-coordinated job — and that makes our work easier and cleaner. When the GC communicates well, sequences the work properly, and treats subcontractors as real partners, everyone wins — especially the owner.
We're grateful for the partnership and look forward to many more projects together across the Texas Panhandle.
